Bob in Color ... Sort Of

Attempts at colorizing photos in the early 1930s had varying degrees of success, although they did improve over time.  At least they show Bob as a Brunette in the following four photos.  Unfortunately, they show him with brown rather than blue eyes.  I'm partial to the last one.  Would love to have the original black and white photo --- it's the smile!

An Evening at the Coconut Grove

The above photo was taken on April 22, 1938, at a Screen Actors Guild party held at the Coconut Grove.  Seated at the table along with Bob and Betty are Walter Connolly and Mrs. Elliott Nugent.
Ran across the photo below on Tumblr recently.  There wasn't any information provided on the photo, but I was able to match it with the one above because of Bob's boutonniere and Betty's laced dress.  That's Joan, of course, with Cesar Romero.  Wonder what the topic of conversation was...at least Cesar is enjoying it.

Dream a Little Dream of Me ...

"Bilge" (Cliff Edwards) sets fire to bunkmate Jonesey's mattress in Shipmates.  I suppose this was supposed to be funny.  Love the look on Jonesey's face.  Dreaming of all those ports and all those girls, I'm guessing.  Lucky ladies.

Yes, Wonderful Eye Candy

Duel in the Sun  with Gregory Peck, Jennifer Jones & Joseph Cotten

Mr. Cotten ... a fine actor with a voice and Virginia drawl to die for.
